DEPOSIT & PAYMENT POLICY
When placing an order for a 50% deposit is taken to secure your date. This deposit is non-refundable. The final payment is due no later than the day before collection / delivery. Wedding deposits are charged at £50 and the final remaining balance is payable no later then 28 days before the wedding day. There are a range of payment options / plans available for weddings, please ask for more details.
FOOD ALLERGY DISCLAIMER
My kitchen is NOT an allergy-free kitchen. I cannot guarantee that our products are free from ingredients that may affect those with food allergies. I do recognise the seriousness of food allergies and recommend that you contact me before you place an order to inform of any food allergies that you or your party may have, we reserve the right to decline any orders for clients with serious food allergies. Cake by Kym will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to our products.
COLLECTIONS
Collections are available:
Monday - Friday: Generally fairly flexible and late evening welcome
Saturday: 9-10am and after 5pm
Sunday / Bank Holidays : On Request
**School holidays Mon-Fri: 9-10am and after 4pm**
TOPPERS AND ORDER SPECIFIC ITEMS
When an item is needed to be ordered in specifically for your order, for example a set of toys / a topper / items specific to your order which can not be used for another immediate purpose I do not order them in until your deposit is paid. If your deposit is paid late and the cost of the items has increased, this cost will be passed onto yourself and the total price on the invoice will increase accordingly. I will notify you of such change. If the items become unavailable in the time taken to pay the deposit I will notify you and we will work together to find a suitable alternative, this may incur an additional charge if the new item is more expensive. If you wish to purchase the items yourself and provide them to me to work with then a time and date can be arranged for you to pop them in at your convenience.
TRAVELLING WITH THE CAKE
It is not recommended to place the cake on a seat in the car, seats are not straight and will likely damage the cake. The cake should be placed either in the boot or the foot well of the car on a non-slip mat. Extra care should be taken when driving as your cake will be delicate. Cake by Kym will not take any responsibility for damage to cakes once collected and transported by customers.
STORAGE
All cakes / cupcakes should be placed on a flat surface and stored at room temperature in the box provided. They should be kept out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Recommended best before: cupcakes should be consumed within 2 days, biscuits, caksicles / treats and cakes 3 days and rich fruit cakes 7 days.
ALTERATIONS TO ORDERS
Any alterations to the original order must be confirmed in writing and maybe subject to additional charges. Late amendments to orders are often possible to accommodate and every effort will be made to accommodate these changes.
CHANGE OF DATE
If for any reason you wish to rearrange the date of your cake every effort will be made to accommodate these changes without any additional charges provided sufficient notice is given and I am able to accommodate the new date. However, if I am fully booked on your newly requested date and as a result you have to cancel your order, I am not liable refund any deposits made.
FRESH FLOWERS
When ordering a cake with fresh flowers, you confirm you accept fresh flowers are not a food product, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants. Cake by Kym takes no responsibility for flowers being food-safe.
NON-EDIBLE ITEMS
Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items; it is the client’s responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption e.g. dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, flower picks, flower tape etc.
COLOURS AND DESIGN
You may wish to supply me with sample colours (i.e. ribbon / material). Whilst an exact match cannot be guaranteed I will endeavour to meet your requirement as far as possible. This also applies to food colourings and icings. I can only create your finished order from what I interpret from the wording of your order; therefore it is vital you check everything is correct. It may not be possible to create exact specifications when modelling food, however I will work with you to ensure you are happy with the design.
OUR PRODUCTS
Products made by Cake by Kym are made by hand and accordingly there will be minor variations in appearance. All photos, illustrations and descriptions displayed on my page are for guidance purposes only.
STAND HIRE
Free stand hire is included with all wedding cakes should it be required. I also have a selection of premium stands available to hire too for a small charge. All stands hired will be subject to a holding deposit of £25 / £50 depending on which stand is chosen. This deposit needs to be paid via bank transfer and will show on your invoice as £0.00. The deposit is held on file and upon the stands safe and undamaged return, it will be refunded to you. Please note it is the customers responsibility to return the stand to me post event, should you fail to do so you will forfeit your deposit monies on file. A late return charge of £5 per day is applied should the stand not be returned in the specified time frame.
PHOTOGRAPHY
All cakes and products are photographed and I reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you.
CAKE CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation by the customer: If the order is cancelled, your deposit / payment is non-refundable, payment remains required for any and all expenses already incurred on behalf of the finished product.
Cancellation by Cake by Kym: I shall not be liable for any failure to perform, where such failure or delay results from any circumstances outside my reasonable control including but not limited to any fire, flood, explosion, accident, adverse weather conditions, traffic congestion, mechanical breakdown, obstruction of any private or public highway, riot, government act, act of war, terrorism, act of God, or from any industrial dispute or strike whatsoever. In the event of exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, Cake by Kym will give as much notice as possible if I am unable to fulfil your order. I will endeavour to find someone else who can produce your order and will refund you any monies already paid.

CLASSES & ONLINE DOWNLOADS
PAYMENTS
A deposit is required to be paid within 24 hours of your invoice being issues to secure a place on a course. Failure to pay the deposit within 24 hours will result in your place being released.
CANCELLATIONS
Cake by Kym reserves the right to cancel or change a class. In these circumstances, we will normally arrange an alternative date and offer students either a transfer to another date or, if this date is not convenient an alternative class. If neither is possible a full refund will be offered.
AMENDMENTS BY STUDENT
Should you decide to cancel or are unable to attend your course Cake by Kym is unable to offer any refund.
In the event of an amendment being required, a minimum of 2 weeks' notice (from the date of the course) is required to be able to transfer to another course (or to use the deposit monies paid on a cake/treats). If less than 2 weeks’ notice is provided your deposit money will be non-refundable or transferable (and therefore lost).
CHILDRENS CLASSES
An adult over the age of 18 must accompany the children and be present during the class at all times.
REFUNDS – ONLINE MATERIALS
Once you receive the links for access to a class, tutorial or download, you will no longer be entitled to a refund. Should you have any questions about your purchase Cake by Kym will be happy to assist.
PERSONAL DETAILS
None of your personal details that we hold will ever be passed onto any third party without your permission. If you wish your details to be removed please inform us. We don’t hold or store any bank or card details on our database.
